Green & Dark with Steam Punk and Peacock Inspiration

Jen and Dom are a great match. A great balance of energy and style and the drive to achieve amazing accomplishments. Their ceremony was beautiful and party wild.  The Muckenthaler Mansion and Cultural Center in Fullerton was a great venue for their indoor/outdoor celebration and the warm October weather was perfect!

The Prized Brides Bouquet was based on an the Jen's inspiration found on the cover of Real Simple Weddings 2011.  She was looking for unique green flowers and free-form shape. It was really fun to make flower selections and bring it all together into a large, stunning creation. Here we used coffee beans, queen anne's lace, green hydrangea, green roses, white roses, cream lisianthus and various greenery wrapped with white silk ribbon.
The Bridesmaid's bouquets were a fun mix of purples and greens, taking coloring cues from the peacock feathers being used in other design elements (and in the bouquet's themselves!)  Purples, different greens and teals, cobalt blue, brown... lots of options and unique flower choices here as well. We found burgundy dahlias, green spider mums, purple stock, green roses, and pointy purple eryngos and tied them up with a green silk ribbon.

With such a beautiful setting, we didn't want to add much to distract from the natural beauty of the property.  Confident in our ability to get the job done, and with help from our trusty assistant Hal (Dad) we hung low cost tulle from the gazebo in the exact draping pattern the betrothed desired.  Adding small bouquets of vendela roses, kermit mums and purple lisianthus in paper cones tied the aisle decor in with the rest of the florals, and budget in check.

The outdoor dance floor was enhanced with an extremely simple design of 2 roses with twisted willow branches in brightly colored glass vases.

Lastly, creating the toss bouquet is a great way to use up leftover flowers that match with all of the design elements of the day. I love the flower toss because I love flowers so much - I'm happy that one more person gets to take home a temporary memento of the celebration.

Our Best Wishes to the Happy Couple!!
